At the heart of Howberry Hills is our family.

Jordan 'Jords' Taylor is a passionate South African who thrives in rural settings. With a knack for fixing things and years of experience in customer operations, he brings hands-on enthusiasm to our farm. When he is not managing the property, you can find him biking or fishing with our kids—activities that truly light him up.

Daniella Taylor, known as Mom, has deep South African roots, enriched by her Portuguese heritage. With solid backgrounds in HR, property management, and sales, she is the tireless force behind our guest experience. Daniella is also a trail runner who loves being outside and traveling. She finds joy in adventures, particularly those taken with family, from hiking Table Mountain in Cape Town to exploring the tranquil beaches of Plettenberg Bay.

Daniel Joshua, our older son, is our little outdoor ranger and a huge fan of Bear Grylls. His passion for nature and adventures adds a dynamic energy to our family, whether he is identifying local bird species or leading nature walks for guests.

Lexi Olivia, our younger daughter, may be shy at times, but she is fiercely kind-hearted. Her gentle spirit brings warmth to our lives. You can often find her playing with friends in the meadow or helping in the garden—a true testament to her love for nature.

Together, we are a close-knit family that values experiences over material possessions, and we are eager to share our journey with you.

The Vision Board Moment

Two years ago, during our first visit to Plettenberg Bay, we stumbled upon a dream that would change our lives forever. Howberry Hills made it to our vision board—a symbol of our hopes and aspirations. The area's beauty and the warmth of its community captivated us.

During our visit, we met Andy, the creator and architect behind Howberry Hills. His passion for the land resonated with us deeply. We soon discussed the possibility of renting a small house on the farm, planting the seed for our move from Johannesburg.

Making the Move

Deciding to relocate was not an easy choice. We sold our home, enrolled our kids in local schools, and organized a remote work setup that would allow us to thrive in our new setting. It was a bold leap, fueled by our vision and the positive spirit we found in Plettenberg Bay.

As we settled in, we were immersed in the breathtaking beauty of the area. The fresh air, stunning views, and welcoming community exceeded our expectations.

Through our persistence and faith, Andy offered us an unexpected chance: the opportunity to buy the farm. The moment was magic, and we knew we had to seize it.

Embracing Our New Life

Owning Howberry Hills has transformed our family. Embracing the rural lifestyle, we find joy in the simplicity of life. From tending to the land to welcoming guests, every day offers new adventures and challenges.

Jordan's handy skills shine as we work on the property. Whether fixing fences or maintaining the farm, he takes pride in every task. Daniella’s guest experience expertise has helped us create a homey environment for visitors, ensuring everyone feels welcomed. Our commitment to our guests is reflected in our 4.9-star rating on various travel platforms.

Our children are thriving in this environment. Daniel, as the outdoor ranger, explores local wildlife, sharing his discoveries, including sightings of the endangered Cape marble butterfly. Lexi enjoys the freedom of outdoor play, making friends in the community who share her love for nature.
